I am using my blog to promote this event, because it is an important part of my life. I am a board member of the Hendricks County Arts Council, and hold their mission dear to my heart. The support of the arts is such a quality of life issue. Studies show that having a high cultural environment increases learning in children, decreases crime in communities and makes for happier social environment.
I think Hendricks County is blessed to have active arts organizations. The Central Indiana Artists support the visual arts, The Hendricks Civic Theater supports the theatrical arts and the Hendricks Symphonic Society supports the musical. The Hendricks County Arts Council is an organization that supports all of these and so much more.
Did you know that:
If it wasn’t for the Hendricks County Arts Council, there would be no Gallery on the Square. The HCAC handles the overhead costs of the gallery. The artists belonging to the co-op pay rent to the HCAC to display there, and volunteer their time to keep the gallery staffed. There are members of HCAC that also help us staff the gallery at times.
The HCAC created ArtsGO! and continues to grow and build upon several years of success in showcasing the arts around the county.
HCAC is a co-sponsor with the Hendricks Co. Convention and Visitors Bureau of the Rural Route 2 Main St. Cultural trail throughout the county.
HCAC has awarded its first annual Susan Miller Carter scholarship this past April
HCAC sponsored children’s Art Camps this summer at the gallery
There are no paid staff in this organizations board. This is a working board of Directors with dedicated people working to foster all of these activities and goals for the love of art and art appreciation.
How do we do it? with the financial support of the community. Without Sponsorships, memberships, and donations, we are dead in the water. With the contributions of money, and volunteerism the HCAC has accomplished great things in its short seven years of existence. We are growing. We are providing more and more as school budgets get less and less. As government funding gets chopped. As the economy fluctuates. We become more and more important to the community.
So please consider the quality of life in your communities by attending this great event. By purchasing raffle tickets for some great gift baskets assembled by the HCAC board members. By going away at the end of the evening knowing you are helping support the efforts of this great organization.
The evening begins at 6 p.m.
Tickets are: $25.00 individual ticket, $40.00 for two tickets, or $75.00 for Patron Tickets ( four tickets, Patron membership for 1 year, and name in program.
Tickets are available at the Gallery on the Square and each board member has tickets to sell as well.
